Distraction

Updated: Jan 19, 2023

Don't allow distraction to stop you. Don't lose sight of your purpose and destiny.

I was recently reminded this week from a coaching session that I received that leadership is mindfulness, a time to sit back and reflect so that others can benefit. Leadership is a pathway, that for most, is chosen. But so much pressure can come with this. However, when you are called to a position, you know that deep within you don't have to worry. You have the skills necessary already. You just need to align yourself to find them.

Don't allow distraction to displace.

Don't allow people to move you from where you are destined to be.

So often our care and concern for others isn't reciprocated and this leads to feelings of resentment and anxiety. But its in these moments that I remember that I am not aligned to my purpose. I've allowed myself to be distracted.

If people cannot see your worth, why? Why is it important that they do?

I was also reminded recently that our purpose and destiny is not to be popular or have influence, its to have an authority which equals respect. A balance that allows for the attainment and alignment that underpins all leadership. Your ability to lead with authority is balanced with the amount of respect that those have for you.

Don't be distracted by the things that, when you look back, won't matter. When you look back on your life, what is it that you want to see? The moments of silent tears wasted when those people will never know how much you cried over them? Or the moments when you built strength from that? Those moments when the distraction made you realise that your purpose and destiny is to not be worried about how that relationship will end up, but what impact you have had on those who truly deserve and need it.

Continue to move forward! Continue to seek justice. For those who do not see, will. For those who do not care for you, they will. But your purpose and destiny is all about where you are headed. Not about what stops you from getting there.

So when you are in those moments when you feel unheard, unloved, unseen. Just remember your purpose. Seek clarity and know that you are here for an amazing life that is destined to bear great fruit. Destined to live a life that changes stories. Destined to live lives that make a difference. Don't allow distraction to blur where you are going. AND don't settle for a life without challenge. Yes, those tears will come, but harness and keep moving forward!
