Waterfall

Updated: Jun 23

Solitude, peace, clarity, relief. I experienced all of this at my latest experience. I was able to stand at the foot of a mighty waterfall. I felt the spray and intensity of this mighty force, I kept my distance, but it taught me a lot.

As the water streamed across my face, I just felt all the moment of past hurt melt away and clarity appear. The past few months for me have been horrendous and probably the worst moments of my life. However, I have learnt that water is a healer. In the moments when I have felt that there is no hope, water has appeared and hope revealed.

I was blessed to have an amazing driver in my recent trip to Bali who taught me a lot. He may not have realised but his willingness to create a daily "blessing basket" enabled me to realise that I am too busy. I take life WAY to seriously and that I need to be present. A blessing basket is something that Balinese workers make the night before they work so that they thank the gods for blessing for the next day. They actually sit, make a basket and prepare blessing for the next day.

How often do we just run through routine and not see the blessings. My blessings on the day of the waterfall came in a huge torrential force and if I got any closer to this force, I would have got hurt. But the rushing water was exhilarating.

So don't sweat the small stuff. Don't allow grief to consume you. Allow yourself to be healed by it. Life is too precious to be concerned about circumstances that are beyond your control. Embrace what you can, but live your best life.
